BT’s Age & Disability Action Team have been providing expert advice on accessible communications for over 20 years. The team raise awareness of the benefits of inclusive design across BT as well as ensuring that customers with communication difficulties are provided with the most appropriate product for their needs.
BT’s Age & Disability consultants have received disability awareness training and understand the need to help older and disabled customers live as independently as possible. An important aspect of this is being able to communicate either in an emergency or socially. In order to offer the best possible advice to older and disabled customers, BT has built up relationships with healthcare and independent living professionals including audiologists and occupational therapists, providing them with the latest updates on BT’s accessible products and loaning BT phones for demonstration to clients.
There are a number of ways to find out more about BT’s accessible products and services, including phones with features like hands-free operation and larger keypads. This includes the BT Age & Disability Action website, Communication Solutions guide and telephone support through BT’s Call Centres.
The Age & Disability Action team also regularly attend age and disability related events across the UK giving customers the opportunity to try out the latest technology from BT.
BT is strongly committed to consulting with older and disabled people and their representatives to ensure that their needs are considered in the development of new products and services. Contact BT Age & Disability Action for further information.
